Chindos was born in 1955 in Famagusta as Andreas Constandinou. A close friend of the family started to call him Chindos at a very young age and now all his friends and relatives know him mainly as Chindos. In his late teenage years Chindos started his creative experiments with pencil drawings and from there he expanded his techniques to ink, acrylic, oils, wood sculpture and photography.

Never regarding himself an artist, Chindos is 100% self taught. The artists that inspire him most are the Dutch artist M.C. Escher, renowned for his mathematical prints and Salvador Dali, the famous Spanish surrealist. Although these artists are miles apart in both style and concept, by seeing Chindos' art one can perfectly understand how both of them influenced Chindos in his work.
